INCHSTONES MENTALITY

In the world of special needs parenting, a mother or father of a child who is regularly not hitting typical milestones can be emotionally crushing.  The world's take on successful development as told by pediatricians is that a baby, toddler, and child must hit certain cognitive, gross & fine motor, and skills in order to be seen as functional.

I DISAGREE.

It is in the ability to harness the building blocks of our children's development, the INCHSTONES of their developmental journey compared not to a typical child but the only comparison being to themselves.  THAT is the inch stone mentality.   To focus on the small moments, the small incremental parts that allow your special needs child (or any kid) flourish and be seen as becoming the best version of themselves.
